Devlog 10: Polish Sprint 2

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another weekly update. This time it is a special one because it will be our last. We just finished the last polishing week and are ready now ready to make our game available for everyone to play.

In this last week we tried fixing a lot of bugs and tried adding more player feedback and through particle effects, controller vibrations and sounds.

The parents

Now when the parents are coming the lighting will go off, music will start playing and your controller will start vibrating faster and faster the closer the parents come so be in your bed in time.

Screen

We redid the whole victory screen. No more flashy colors, just like we did with the ready screen last week.  The winner will do a victory celebration while the others stand sadly beside him. We also added some fire works to make the victory extra fun because who doesn't  like some firework.

Not only the victory screen was redone this week, we now also have a start screen with the name of the game and an option to show the controls.

Loudness

The loudness bar is now update from the ugly standard unity one to one we made ourselves. We first had some problems with the masking and making the slider, but later it was easily fixed and we now have a working loudness meter. This meter also goes down when the players aren't fighting or breaking stuff.

Lighting

Previously we had a problem where the lighting on the walls was different for each wall and this could clearly be seen. We had this problem because the wall wasn't one big piece but multiple modular pieces put together. This problem is now fixed because we made it one big wall.

Sound

A lot has happened this week in the sound department, so much in fact that the best way to show you is with a small gameplay trailer, enjoy!

Well, that's all we had for this week. Thanks for reading this last post.

Hopefully you all enjoy playing the game!

Bye!
